This is a little poem I am going to illustrate and hopefully turn it into a children’s picture book. Hopefully enjoyed by children but with a message for us all.

Corky The Friendly Croc  Never smile at a crocodile is what we’re always told, But Corky,The Croc, liked to grin when he was 1 year old. His parents tried to teach him to scowl, Bare his teeth and a give a scary growl, But he wanted some friends to laugh and have fun,  Just cos … Continue reading This is a little poem I am going to illustrate and hopefully turn it into a children’s picture book. PADDLING TO SHORE

Written for Lynn’s retirement after 21 years as a teacher  Lynn has finally paddled to the shore. Stepping on the sand of the retirement tour. New adventures and grandkids to spoil, No more marking or teachers’ hard toil. But we must remember a few little things, Before she flies off, flapping those wings: She started … Continue reading PADDLING TO SHORE

Written for Mary’s 18th birthday, requested by her parents to put inside her card.

Mary you’re eighteen, you’ve now come of age, Time for your story to turn a new page. All grown up now, no longer a girl, You’re a beautiful woman, you’re our precious pearl. We’ve always been proud of what you’ve achieved, A* in exams that we couldn’t believe, You always worked hard to be a … Continue reading Written for Mary’s 18th birthday, requested by her parents to put inside her card.

Gareth and Gabrielle’s 21st birthday, requested by their parents, Fiona and Geoff.

Gaz and Gabby, our terrible twins, From the moment they were born they had us in spins. Double the trouble we have to say, Getting into mischief on every day. Having to have eyes in the back of our heads, Some days thinking we need to take meds. A couple of rascals and bundles of … Continue reading Gareth and Gabrielle’s 21st birthday, requested by their parents, Fiona and Geoff.

I know you’re not supposed to know who I am, But I can’t hide my love, I just never can. St Valentine really gave me the bug, There’s nothing more lovely than me in your hug. Cupid’s arrow also pierced my heart, I was struck with love’s own special dart. When I first saw you … Continue reading A poem written for Joe on Saint Valentine’s Day for Debbie. Jane, John, Lizzie and Nick are all the loving children of Albert and Ida and asked for this poem to be written after the passing of their Dad. Grandchildren are Annabel and Lucy.

This is a time to celebrate Albert’s inning, He loved his cricket when England were winning. We’re lucky that he managed to make such old bones, So we want this upbeat with no moans or groans. Dad wanted us to remember the man that he was, Not weeping or crying and that was because He’d … Continue reading Jane, John, Lizzie and Nick are all the loving children of Albert and Ida and asked for this poem to be written after the passing of their Dad. Written for a family after the tragic loss of their son, Matt, in their bid to show the senseless nature of teen knife crimes.

No one can imagine their son never coming back. Here just a second ago, we can still see his foot track. There’s his print still etched in the mud, But there’s no mistake that he’s gone for good. A knock at the door, police on the road, The expression of sorrow and deep heavy load. … Continue reading Written for a family after the tragic loss of their son, Matt, in their bid to show the senseless nature of teen knife crimes.
